MI Symptoms

MI may present differently in women than in men. Although chest pain is the most common presenting symptom in both men and women, many women may not experience chest pain with MI.26 Common MI symptoms among women include26-28:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Weakness
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Back, neck, jaw, or shoulder pain
  • Nausea, vomiting, or indigestion
  • Dizziness
  • Cold sweat
